Session Three - The Necromancer

[2023/07/31 15:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: so, guess we'll jump right in... Greeeeeetttings, adventurers... some players get well-thought-out adventures, you get... well, you'll see!
[2023/07/31 15:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: think we left off last time with settling to dinner as the guests of a travelling knight on a quest
[2023/07/31 15:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hope you like chicken stew, because that's what dinner turned out to be.
[2023/07/31 15:36] Alicia Frakture: Sounds Tasty, and Leesha will sit down to eat.
[2023/07/31 15:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sir Roebuck nods and tucks into his own bowl. "Simple fare, I fear, but I cannot bring a whole kitchen on a quest."
[2023/07/31 15:38] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: A decent enough dinner, nothing for debben to complain about there. She might donate some of her flour to make some sort of rolls to go with it, campfire-pan-fried
[2023/07/31 15:38] Alicia Frakture: /me Leesha has some bread so she offers it to go with the stew
[2023/07/31 15:38] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me takes a set and eats quietly, enjoying it while paying attention to the conversation
[2023/07/31 15:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan likewise tucks in, watching the goings' on. The men at arms eat then settle on a shedule of watches, and lay out bedrolls. (For them, you hopefully got yours!)
[2023/07/31 15:41] Alicia Frakture: Leesha soes but she prefers tonight to rest against a tree.
[2023/07/31 15:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay... everyone picks their spots, I guess, and as the two nominated men at arms patrol the area, the moon rises high and everyone sleeps for the night.
[2023/07/31 15:42] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me sets out a bedroll after finding a somewhat safe comfortable spot
[2023/07/31 15:43] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben looks for any sort of dry, stony spot to lay hers out on.
[2023/07/31 15:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: The morning comes later, and with much stretching everyone awakes. Breakfast is last nights' left overs, plus bread rolls.
[2023/07/31 15:45] Alicia Frakture: Leesha loads up her gear and eatsd some breakfast
[2023/07/31 15:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sir Roebuck and his men quickly break camp. "Here our paths part," he says, "I thank you for the pleasant company, and may your path be easy."
[2023/07/31 15:46] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben works on getting packed up, eating quickly, eager to get moving northward. "Thank you too. Safe travels," she replies.
[2023/07/31 15:47] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me carefully packs up making sure pack is tied well and begins to ready to set out with the group
[2023/07/31 15:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: Before long, you watch as the knight and his retinue move on the path, receding into the distance. The route to the village where Granny Gumph lives forks to the right, curving eastwards, towards the forests south of the northern hills.
[2023/07/31 15:49] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Which direction did the knight go?
[2023/07/31 15:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: North, to the mountains, so he took the left fork.
[2023/07/31 15:50] Alicia Frakture: Leesha makes sure the bag of rats she has are still good before aiming for the rightfork
[2023/07/31 15:51] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: /me wonders what "good" means with regards to a bag of rats....
[2023/07/31 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: The journey isn't eventful (most brigands avoid knights, after all) but soon you come to an odd sight, a cart, stuck half off the track, half on a field, surrounded by half a dozen very small green-skinned creatures, with extremely evil and nasty appearance, waving and shouting at each other. What's really odd, is two cows are hitched to the cart, not horses.
[2023/07/31 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: Now what?
[2023/07/31 15:53] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me stops to take in the sight with a confused look, turning then to her companions, "Now that is something never seen before. Is this a usual sight on the roads?"
[2023/07/31 15:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan looks surprised. "Who are these guys?"
[2023/07/31 15:54] Alicia Frakture: Would Leesha know what those little green skinned creatures are?
[2023/07/31 15:54] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Seems like it's goblins again. They have a whole *thing* about horses, hence the cows."
[2023/07/31 15:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: Not goblins, no... these are smaller, and what they lack in size, they're making up with sheer malice.
[2023/07/31 15:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: What you going to do?
[2023/07/31 15:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Is their thing actually blocking the road or not? What sort of terrain is to the side of us?
[2023/07/31 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: Rolling fields, bordered by hedges. It looks like they tried to drag the cart out of the field with the cows, but got stuck. Now they're jumping about, waving, jabbering at each other angrily
[2023/07/31 15:58] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is gonna draw her wrench and approaches the cart."You need a hand with the cart?"
[2023/07/31 15:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: The creatures stop and turn, looking at you (looking up at you?). "Monster, go, this our cart!" says one, who looks rather bigger, older, and much more malicious.
[2023/07/31 16:00] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods."Your cart and it is stuck. I can help get it unstuck if you like.
[2023/07/31 16:00] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben is about to scoff and keep going, but slows down when Leesha offers to help.
[2023/07/31 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: You notice they have a splash of paint on their... well, armour, it's far from uniform. It looked like blood at first but you realize they're similar, seeming to depict an eagle, wings out stretched. But with very long neck and tail. "Monster! Leave!" growl the apparant leader
[2023/07/31 16:01] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): following along behind the group, slows as Leesha interacts with the little green people, keeping distance watching
[2023/07/31 16:02] Alicia Frakture: /me Leesha shrugs."Can't say I didn't offer." as she begins walking away..
[2023/07/31 16:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: The bigger creature turns to his band. "Come now! Free cart, serve Goddess! Then we raid more!"
[2023/07/31 16:04] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben turns to go as well, lingering just long enough to study the metal of their equipment, and listening in on this 'goddess' of theirs. Maybe she can pull a prank of some sort....
[2023/07/31 16:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's hard to say what their Goddess is, you've not seen or heard of these creatures. The armour is mostly dirty leather; not a great deal of metal.
[2023/07/31 16:05] Alicia Frakture: /me walks on."Come on. can't wait to get these rats to Granny Grumph." She keeps walking
[2023/07/31 16:06] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Yeah. Maybe give her a heads up about these would-be raiders as well."
[2023/07/31 16:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan sidles past them, not sure it's entirely wise to present a back to these creatures, but they're too engrossed in pulling the cart free
[2023/07/31 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: Moving on?
[2023/07/31 16:08] Alicia Frakture: INdeed, we're off again
[2023/07/31 16:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: How many of them did you say there were?
[2023/07/31 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: About half a dozen.
[2023/07/31 16:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: So they outnumber us, if barely
[2023/07/31 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: broadly, yes
[2023/07/31 16:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: yeah, Debben is fine with giving them the skip. we are no evil-hunting knight.
[2023/07/31 16:09] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): listened in as they were walking and turned to look back to the green creatures curiosity almost stopping her steps as she heard about a goddess. "I wonder which pantheon the little ones were speaking of..." she mumbled as they followed the road
[2023/07/31 16:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan shakes her head, thinking we got a real naive one here... "Probably not a good one to tangle with!"
[2023/07/31 16:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's only a few hours to the village, and Gumph lives in a cottage outside the village, so, where you going first?
[2023/07/31 16:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "They endorse raiding others, does your kind of god do that?"
[2023/07/31 16:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben is basically following Leesha, "Anything we should know about... family ettiqute?"
[2023/07/31 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan looks offended. "The Lady of Flowers does not endorse raiding!"
[2023/07/31 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Expect the etiquette to be fairly coarse.)
[2023/07/31 16:13] Alicia Frakture: Going to Grannys first."Yeah, just tell her your friends and she will only joke about eating ya, but if you think it's gonna be tea and doilies you are in for a shock."
[2023/07/31 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: The cottage is -fairly- easy to find. Half orcs aren't exactly welcome in most places, and are treated with some suspicion at best, but on the other hand, she's a healer with much knowledge on how to cure what ailment, so, it's not -that- hard to get to
[2023/07/31 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: But either way, you find her cottage!
[2023/07/31 16:16] Alicia Frakture: Leesha walks to the door and knocks."Granny, Ya home?!"
[2023/07/31 16:16] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "I'd honestly be more shocked if it -was- tea and doilies."
[2023/07/31 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: The door is a typical stable door, common in peasant houses. The top door opens up and an aged, green-skinned head, wrinkled and with much white hair pokes out. "Yeesssshhh? Oooh, Leeshy??"
[2023/07/31 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan, taken by surprise, jumps back and mutters about zombies
[2023/07/31 16:18] Alicia Frakture: Leesha holds up the bag of rats."Brought ya the rats, like ya asked. Brought some friends too."She pauses and looks at Megan.
[2023/07/31 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: The door opens fully and Gumph takes one of the rats, and quickly twists it, making a loud snapping before ramming a wooden stick into it. "Good, good, we roast rat, we sit and have dinner!"
[2023/07/31 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan: "Oh, fuck..."
[2023/07/31 16:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Wow," Debben mumbles. "Reminds me of the -deep- mine dwarves."
[2023/07/31 16:23] Sonja Bikergrrl: Gumph blinks and looks at you all. "Silly! We not eat rat! We have nice pie, made with fish and potato. Rat for our guest, guest have story to tell."
[2023/07/31 16:24] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): Doesnt seem put off by the rats at all, but does smile hearing of the potato especially, "There must be quite the story here", she would say as she followed the others
[2023/07/31 16:25] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Oh! Huh." She nods, easing up. "Who's our guest?"
[2023/07/31 16:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: Gumph potters about with a huge stove, opening it up and sliding the skewered rat beside a large dish with a pie on it. "Gnoink, he have story. Hey, Gnoink! Come meet Leeshy, she good girl." Gumph pats Leesha on the head.
[2023/07/31 16:28] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smiles as she follows in, listening, blushing lightly at being pat on the head.
[2023/07/31 16:29] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben takes a moment to inspect the inside of this cabin that Leesha's granny has.
[2023/07/31 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: A small robed figure leans in from a doorway. You see a green face - a goblin! "Have story, yes. Bad story, much bad coming, all wrong!"
[2023/07/31 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: And on -that- cliffhanger, a description of a halforc cottage waits to next time!
[2023/07/31 16:30] Alicia Frakture: And that is a biiiig cliffhanger
[2023/07/31 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: yep :)
